Recreation Facilities

COMMUNITY HALL 

The Hill Spring Community Hall is located at 11 E 2 Ave S. This venue is available to rent. The fees and charges of the Community Hall can be found in the Fees Rates & Charges Bylaw 2021-245. 

ICE RINK 

The Village skating rink is located at 11 E 2 Ave S directly behind the Community Hall/Village Office. It is seasonally operated by local volunteers and operation is determined by the weather. 

PLAY GROUND 

The Village has a small playground on the east side of the skating rink located at 11E 2 Ave S. The Spring Glen Jr. High School, located at 125 N Main Street, also has a playground. 

BALL DIAMONDS AND CAMP KITCHEN 

The ball diamonds and camp kitchen are located on the north end of the village on the east side of main street or Hiway 800, between 1st Ave N and 2 Ave N. The Village leases this property from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Booking of the camp kitchen or the ball diamonds is done through the Hill Spring Recreation Society. 

RIDING ARENA 

The Hill Spring Riding Arena Property is leased by the Village from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and is maintained and operated by the Hill Spring Agricultural Society. It is located east of the camp kitchen, corner of 1st Ave N & 1st Street E. 

SPRING GLEN PARK 

Spring Glen Park is one of the best kept secrets in Southern Alberta. It is a seasonal campground located in Cardston County on Range Road 273 between the Villages of Hill Spring and Glenwood. The park is governed by The Spring Glen Park Society, comprised of members of the three local municipal councils (Glenwood, Hill Spring & Cardston County) and area residents.

WATERTON DAM 

This waterfront campground is in Waterton Reservoir Provincial Recreation Area, along AB-505 W & Range Road 283, just 13 minutes (12.7 km) away from the Village. It’s a great place to enjoy many water activities and camping. 

WATERTON NATIONAL PARK 

Just a mere 20 minutes (32.6 km) away, Hill Spring is often referred to as the gateway to Waterton National Park where the prairies of Alberta meet the peaks of the Rocky Mountains. Here you will find a cozy little waterfront town with a diversity of wildlife, wildflowers, hiking trails, great food and much more.
